This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My PreK students are in their first year of a PreK-5 Spanish Immersion program. The students come from English, Spanish and other language backgrounds. Our wonderful program has been in existence since the early 1990's but added PreK in 2004. It is a unique opportunity to learn a second language while focusing on social emotional development and kindergarten readiness in a public school setting. Our goal is to foster bilingualism, biliteracy, and biculturalism that will last our students a lifetime.

My Project

These exciting painting materials are unlike anything we can find in our regular school supplies. Tempera paint sticks and water color brush pens and craft tape are different and appealing to four year old students.

Kids can practice creating art through different mediums and can experiment with dexterity using different shapes and sizes of handles and brushes.

We have an independent art center where the kids can choose the materials they want to make the kind of art they want. Having these extra supplies would appeal to their creativity and the bright colors would add joy to our classroom environment.
