Each day our students are given independent time to be creative in the different areas in the classroom. Creativity in a child brings about the idea of a future plan that they may have, and given several options to choose from allows for their creativity to be embraced.
In our classroom we have English and Spanish speaking students.
Due to the background of the students we enable them to find common interests that allow for communication and dialogue. In our program we encourage students to interact with others and create a bond that will keep them engaged in activities to support cooperative play. Through this cooperative play they will not only share ideas but they will break the language barrier that exists throughout the year.
My Project
Due to the type of program that we follow, block area is our largest and most active area in the classroom. As you walk through the classroom, each area connects to the surrounding area while still maintaining it's own use and contents. With the use of the building blocks and connecting manipulative's, our students will begin with a simple idea, and expand through communication with others and their knowledge. These students will be capable of problem solving with the tools that they are given and applying their communication skills to the situations at hand.
Donations to this project will allow the students to grow using their problem solving skills, experience, communication skills and cooperative planning.
Exposure to tools that create paths to a child's imagination allows them to hope for a future that will make them happy as well as a productive member of society.
