This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This is a collaboration project between STEM and Ms. D.'s 3rd grade classroom. We are all a part of the village that guides these students. The sand art and condiment bottles will be used as tactile and creative activities which extend and deepen student thinking and understanding of 3rd grade level standards. It's true that art and creative expression are meaningful learning tools for all students, but to our many students where English isn't his or her native language, this is a particularly engaging type of learning. One where connections can be made across content areas and academic confidence builds.
