My students need the circuit scribe kit to understand the electric circuitry.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. M's classroom raised $1,468

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students in my STEM elective class are pretty creative and very energetic. They are a mixed group of sophomores, juniors, and seniors from different boroughs. They are predominantly Hispanics and African American kids who altogether attend our school in lower Manhattan. They are a fun loving group of kids who are all eager and excited to learn something new every day. I explained to them that since this is a STEM class it required a lot of patience when doing hands-on activities, open mindedness, a lot of imagination, collaboration, as well as logical thinking. I am inspired by these students because every day when they come in my classroom the first thing they tell me is, “Ms. M, what challenges are we going to do today?” which gives me an idea that they look forward to doing creative engineering types of work.
My students love the STEM challenges.
In class, they are either on the floor designing and measuring or drawing their prototypes. Some also refine their prototypes and test their designs as they were doing the challenges. Everyone in the classroom participates regardless of reading levels or math levels. All work together and make their projects to the best of their abilities.
My Project
My students will bring the materials home to build each set of circuit scribe kit. They'll draw and create their own images on a piece of paper and attach it on a magnet base that will ultimately transform into a fully functional electric circuit board.
The kit will let student's imagination and creativity merge with their knowledge of science and mathematics as they invent exciting circuits using our Circuit Scribe conductive ink pen, sweet magnetic modules, and plain old printer paper.
By placing the paper over a steel sheet, included in every kit, your paper becomes the base for blinking lights, beeping buzzers, and whirling motors.
Once students are done with their unique projects, they will each be given the chance to share what they have invented with their families and hopefully inspire others to get into STEM projects.
