Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of our students come from lower income and disadvantaged backgrounds and lack access to technology at home. This hinders their ability to practice writing outside of the classroom and explore digital tools for creative expression.

The Solution:

Your generous donation will help us acquire one iPad Air, one Apple Pencil, and cases of wooden pencils.

These powerful device will transform our ELA classroom through:

• Interactive Writing Activities: Students will use note-taking apps to brainstorm ideas, organize outlines, and revise drafts collaboratively.

• Digital Storytelling: The Apple Pencil will allow students to annotate texts, create graphic organizers, and design their own ebooks and presentations.

• Personalized Learning: Apps cater to diverse le ing styles, offering voice dictation and text-to-speech features for struggling readers.

• Engaging Assessments: Students can create multimedia presentations and digital portfolios to showcase their writing progress.

This iPad and Apple Pencil will specifically:

• Boost Writing Confidence: Digital tools make writing more interactive and engaging, motivating students to experiment and refine their skills.

• Enhance Collaboration: Students can work together on projects, providing valuable peer feedback that strengthens their writing.

• Develop Digital Literacy: Exposure to these tools will prepare students for a

- technology-driven world and future academic endeavors.

The regular pencils will help the students outline and draft their writing on paper first. Then they can develop their writing and publish digitally on the iPad.
