My school is located in the inner city, low-income area. The school serves grades Pre-K through 8th grade. All students are living below the poverty line and the district is suffering major budget cuts. The educators are working hard to give back to the community and make the school successful.
"Devoted teachers and inspired students work together to make a commitment to achieve a successful education!"
I teach no more than 15 at-risk Pre-Kindergarten students. Almost all of my students enter my classroom with learning deficits. This does not stop them! They are very active and excited scholars. They try to do their very best with every activity and lesson given to them. They are special because they are happy to come to school everyday. They are eager to learn. They make everything in the classroom a learning experience. I love to watch them grow socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically. I love their determination and persistence to get the job done. I love their curiosity and willingness to investigate every learning opportunity.
My Project
I would like for my students to have a successful remote learning experience. They need various materials to accomplish this goal. One goal is to have a library area set up in their homes. This area will enhance their reading skills.
Reading is the most important part of a well rounded education.
Our daily schedule will include independent reading, so my students will need a basket of books. They need books to make their learning from home complete and enhance their reading skills. New books, inviting books and books that are age appropriate will allow them to have a wonderful reading experience. In addition, having more books at home will allow them to complete their weekly book report activity. Books will allow students to implement dramatic play by acting out the stories, drawing their favorite part and conduct book club discussions.
