Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a group of first graders that are eager to learn and grow! My kids are always looking for more challenges and opportunities to show what they are learning. As we work through these challenging times in schools with the pandemic, my students need the resources and tools to have engaging activities.
Our school is located in Utah with a diverse group of students.
Every child has different strengths, as well as different needs. They all learn differently and need a variety of seating, learning options, and learning strategies to ensure that their needs are met. I am so proud to work with this amazing group of learners that strive to improve every single day!
My Project
In light of the pandemic, families have been affected with a loss of jobs. In result of this, students are unable to purchase the necessary supplies they need for the classroom. Purchasing these supplies for my classroom will ensure that all students have the materials they need, with a 1:1 ratio. In addition to supplies, the station resources that I am requesting will help supplement my LETRS training to improve their multi-sensory, academic learning. They are also laminated materials that will allow for easy cleaning after student use to continue fighting the spread of COVID. The flexible seating promotes multi-sensory learning, as well as provides an optional support to promote social-emotional growth. All of these resources are things we would use daily in the classroom for engaging, hands-on activities to get my students excited about learning, in light of the tough situation we are in.
