This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a special education teacher, my goal is to provide students with meaningful activities that support their growth and help them reach their full potential. My classroom serves students in grades 1 through 5 with significant cognitive disabilities that affect their communication and functional life skills.

This project focuses on expanding our collection of task boxes—structured, hands-on learning tools designed to foster student independence and build confidence.

These task boxes offer opportunities for students to engage in individualized activities that reinforce academic concepts and daily living skills in a consistent, manageable way.

Additionally, I am seeking materials for hands-on games and group activities that encourage collaboration and communication. These interactive experiences help students practice social and emotional skills, including how to express themselves appropriately in both winning and losing situations. Laminating pouches are also essential to this project, as they help protect and preserve the materials inside the task boxes, ensuring long-term use and durability.
