Help me give my students these Sphero Spectrums rings to learn to combine music and computer coding.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Hawkins's classroom raised $297

My Students
My target students are in the seventh and eighth grades at a Title I school in the Delta, with a very high population of students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. They are incredibly bright and eager to learn. They love working on inquiry-driven projects that require them to work together and apply 21st-century skills. This project will allow students from varied economic backgrounds to work collaboratively with their teachers to prepare them for the workforce they will enter.
My Project
In my computer and coding classroom, I am always looking for ways to boarded the horizons of my students. We are on the lookout for glimpses of ever-changing technology. Besides technology, music is another thing many students are drawn to.
These Sphero Spectrum Rings allow my computer students to compose their own original music, all while interacting with the beautiful world around them.
These interactive rings are color sensitive, and though the use of an app, allows students to take those color sensors in the rings to create and compose music. They will also use their programming and coding knowledge to enhance their compositions. I hope this will be a new way to bridge the gap between students' in-class work and their natural love of music -- connection technology & the arts.
