Creating Temperature Blankets and Scarves That Everyone Will Want

Help me give my students colorful yarn to create beautifully crocheted raffle prizes!

My Project

My 6th grade daughter showed me a Tik Tok trend, the Temperature Blanket. She wants to learn how to crochet to make one AND told me how my crochet club at school can make them, too. I love the idea that crocheting is actually on Tik Tok and it's no longer just for grannies... and this teacher!

Temperature blankets change color with the changing weather and this will be an exciting year long project for my crochet club - that will result in some great raffle prizes for our school.

We track the weather and assign a color to each assigned temperature range. Each row of the blanket matches the color for the weather that day.

With your help, my students will have the yarn to start these blankets (and smaller versions as scarves) when we return to the spring semester. My students are so full of creativity and with your help, they will be able to create some beautiful homemade items!
