This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you like writing? Do you remember how you started writing? We want our students to begin a love for writing! By providing them with fun and exciting materials we hope give children the opportunity to LOVE writing!

My students are a group of two-way dual language learners.

Our classroom is made up of half native English speakers and half native Spanish speakers. The majority of students in our classroom come from low socioeconomic households where they are exposed to little or no resources for an enriched education. Students work together happily throughout the day to become biliterate, bicultural and bilingual. Watching them work together and break language barriers while working on social skills is amazing. With these materials, students will be able to continue to explore and expand their love for learning independently or with friends. My students love coming to school everyday and using the tools and resources we provide them. These students LOVE centers and learning, and I feel with these materials they would only love school even more

My Project

Learning how to write is sometimes difficult for most students. If students have never been given the materials they need to learn how to write it can be frustrating and challenging just holding a marker correctly. Learning how to write is not just holding a pencil in your hand and writing letters. It begins by understanding that you can write by making dots, using materials to create letters and drawing pictures. With these materials we want to children to become comfortable making different types of lines using their fingers, using their hands to roll play-doh to create letters and also using paper punchers to build muscles in their hands to be able to hold a pencil or marker correctly. With your help students will be able to feel comfortable and become excited about writing using fun and engaging materials.

Donations to this project will make a difference because it will allow students to enjoy writing.

These materials will give students the confidence and excitement they need in order to create a love for writing.
