Creating Successful Readers!

My students need fluency and reading items to create successful readers.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Alex's classroom raised $400

My Students

Most of my students do not have a love of reading because it is a huge challenge for them. I want to provide them with a year full of opportunity to gain a love of reading. The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go. -Dr. Seuss

This year I will be teaching the students that need a little extra help with all things literacy.

I want to provide my students with as many opportunities as I can to help improve their reading and writing abilities. I hope to provide an environment for these students that will make them want to read because they are interested and engaged in the reading opportunities and activities they will be participating in.

My Project

The donations that I am requesting include nonfiction comprehension quick cards, fluency building cards, reading comprehension activities, grammar/writing activities, and vocabulary activities. The nonfiction comprehension cards will give students short nonfiction articles to read and respond to questions. My students need help with fluency and comprehension and the fluency cards and games will help with this. The reading games have a variety of skills and genres. These items will provide many on level, but high interest readings and activities for my class. Students will be using all of these different items on a weekly basis during independent and small group work.. These activities will help them with writing, fluency, and comprehension skills.

This donation will provide my class and students with many supplies to excel student development and learning.

It will be an engaging way of gaining the skills that are necessary for students to become successful in their school careers. These activities and donations will help them with writing, fluency, reading skills, comprehension, and to gain a lifelong love for reading.
