Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Empowering students in math, science, reading and writing in the lower grades sets a great beginning for success in future grades! With the right tools at their hands, my students will be able to develop essential math, science, reading and writing skills at an early age and what better than to get them started now.

My students are simply amazing!

They are enthusiastic learners who are eager to learn and are ready to be challenged. They are always willing to try new things and take risks to problem solve. My students come from low socioeconomic families. Most of them are immigrants from Mexico and Central America. All of them qualify for free breakfast and lunch. I can only imagine how much more their enthusiasm and learning would grow in reading, math, and all other content areas if they simply had more updated technology available in the classroom.

My Project

Legos are a great way for students to use their imaginations and creativity to build and solve problems. My students love creating things from cars to buildings with the Legos in the class but how exciting it would be for them to have a variety of Legos to build more creative objects.

STEM projects incorporate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to solve problems and develop critical thinking skills.

The Legos will be used to build solutions to complex problems. STEM projects have real world applications. I am trying to teach my students to be able to apply the skills that are taught to real world problems. Legos are not only a great learning tool for the children but also the kids have fun building with them.
