Creating Safe Spaces for Students to Transition to Middle School

Help me give my students comfortable flexible seating and hygiene items such as toothbrushes , stain removing wipes, and more items for classroom use.

My Project

Help me and my students create a self care station and safe space that is available to over 100, 6th graders in our building. Flexible seating helps students adjust to the rigor of middle school. Self care supplies students might need during a regular day, available to use as needed and without judgment will give students comfort when they need it.

Think about that morning you ran out the door and forgot deodorant, hurried and did not brush your teeth, or spilled coffee on your shirt.

Transition to middle school is tough. Having these self care items readily available can make it a little easier.

I want our students to be able to become confident young learners in an environment that nurtures their physical and social changes. A place that allows them to find a space that works for them. Whether on a floor cushion or at a desk, we want to maximize learning.

Middle school is a big adjustment, providing flexible seating and personal Hygiene products will help build student confidence and success.
