This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a diverse group of learners who each bring unique strengths and challenges to the classroom. Many of my students struggle with managing stress and maintaining focus during the school day, which can interfere with their learning. That’s where these sensory tools come in.

By providing my students with sensory toys like stress balls, fidget toys, and calming squeeze toys, I’m giving them the opportunity to self-regulate, focus, and remain engaged in their lessons.

These resources will not only help students who need sensory support, but they will also promote a calming environment where all students can focus better and reduce anxiety. The sensory toys I’ve selected, such as the NeeDoh fidget toys and stress balls, are perfect for hands-on learners who thrive when given tools that keep their hands busy and minds calm. This project will empower students to take charge of their own learning in a positive, focused, and emotionally healthy way.

I’ve already noticed that my students are more engaged and productive when they can manage their stress levels, and I’m excited to provide them with these new tools to help them continue thriving in the classroom.
