My Project
I’m continually inspired by how my students connect with and support one another throughout the year—whether working through challenging readings, strengthening their writing, or preparing thoughtful presentations. Their ability to collaborate and encourage one another has created a classroom culture rooted in growth, empathy, and shared success.
As we begin reading Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell, I believe it will be a powerful catalyst for developing their argumentation writing skills and their understanding of what it means to be successful—not just academically, but in life beyond high school.
One of my primary goals is to ensure that every student receives their own copy of Outliers. Having a personal copy allows students to read at their own pace, annotate directly in the book, and revisit key concepts as needed. More importantly, it equips them to take the conversation beyond our classroom—discussing the book’s themes with peers, family, and others on campus.
I want students to feel empowered not only to succeed themselves but to uplift others by sharing the insights they gain. This book will serve as both a learning tool and a bridge to wider conversations about effort, opportunity, and achievement.
