My students need pencils, pencil and crayon sharpeners, oil pastels, markers, and Sharpies to create beautiful meaningful masterpieces this school year.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our art room serves as an "odyssey;" it's a place where we embark on a series of wanderings and adventures. In the art room this year my students and I are more enthusiastic than ever to CREATE! Our classroom motto this year is "If you can dream it, you can do it!"
Our school is a Title I school in a low socioeconomic neighborhood; however, that doesn't stop our students who have an insatiable thirst for knowledge that is amazing.
The art room serves as a safe haven for many because it's the one area where they are able to create and express their emotions, thoughts and ideas in ways that in the regular classroom they sometimes aren't able to. In art this year we are embarking to far far away lands inspired by many artists such as Joan Miro, Salvador Dali, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, just to name a few.
My Project
The materials we are requesting will allow the students to use a wider, better quality, variety of mediums that otherwise we would be unable to provide for them in our school. The oil pastels, markers, Sharpie markers, pencils and sharpeners will allow them to create their masterpieces.
The donations in the art room will allow our students to create beautiful masterpieces this school year.
They will allow our little Monets to create the amazing landscapes they envision in their minds or allow our innovative Dalis to create the unimaginable and share it with the world! Regardless of the artists who inspired them to create, our children will be ARTISTS, today, always and forever! The experiences they create in the art room will be sure to last a lifetime.
