My Project

I am a high school English teacher, and my scholars come from an underserved community where many struggle with reading at an elementary or middle school level. Because of this, it is hard for them to fully express themselves or connect with the stories they read. By providing books written by and about authors who look like them, along with notebooks and headphones to use vocabulary-building tools, we can help them grow their language skills and spark their creativity.

These resources, such as the notebooks, headphones, and books, won’t just help them become better readers and writers.

They will give our scholars a chance to find their own voices and tell their stories in a way that feels real to them. For some kids, who can’t always see beyond their current situation, this kind of exposure can open their eyes to new possibilities and help them imagine a brighter future. Your support will truly make a difference in helping them grow, not just academically, but personally as well.
