I have taught 4th grade for the last 10 years and am eager to meet my new class for the 2017-2018 school year.
It is important to me that my students develop positive character traits and have an opportunity to collaborate and work as a team.
I would love to enhance my classroom library of games for students to use with peers during days when the weather forces us to have indoor recess. These games would encourage students to work together and interact positively.
My Project
Rain, sleet, hail, or snow, oh no! These often mean the possibility of the dreaded indoor recess. But, indoor recess doesn't have to be a disappointment. By donating to our classroom project, you can help bring more than 10 fun and engaging games to our classroom.
These games will not only teach students to work together as a team, but they will promote good sportsmanship and positive communication skills.
Games like checkers and chess will promote deep thinking, deductive thinking, strategic thinking, and problem solving. Games like Chutes and Ladders and Candyland will be engaging and fun. Occasionally in class it can be a struggle for students to get along and work along side their peers. These games will encourage students to socialize, build concentration skills, and to develop patience.
Turn students frowns upside down on indoor recess days by providing them with new games to play with inside.
