it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Kindergarten students love to be creative. Their faces light up when we do art projects in class. Unfortunately, with all of the recent budget cuts, we are unable to purchase the supplies that we need in order to allow our students to express their creative minds.
I teach a group of 24 enthusiastic and energetic 5 year olds.
The majority of our school population is comprised of English language learners. Many of them qualify for free or reduced lunches. They are very hard-working students and they do their best to accomplish their academic goals. Art is a universal language, a form of self expression that can eliminate barriers and obstacles to learning. Art activities are important because they encourage each child's creative development. Participating in art activities allows the children to increase motor skills, express thoughts and feelings, develop language skills and finally to increase the self-esteem of the child by allowing them to create something that they are proud of.
My Project
By donating to this project, you will help our students further develop their artistic abilities. Your help will make such a big difference in the lives of these kindergarten students. The paint, crayons, markers, paper, and collage kits that our class needs will not only allow my Kindergarten students to express their creativity, but it will help them to increase their self-esteem and to create projects that they are very proud of.
We have limited funds and materials for the arts in our school and your donation will allow our children to have experiences that they may not get to have otherwise.
