My Students

The transition from elementary to middle school, sixth grade students may be intimidated by a bigger campus, more students, multiple teachers and classes, in an unfamiliar school. As a sixth grade teacher, I create an environment that is warm and welcoming for all my students. My goal is to make this time a stress free time for the incoming, sixth graders.

My students are a mixture of many different backgrounds on all different academic levels.

My goal for the students is the challenge them academically in math and sciences without ever compromising their character. My vision is to develop lifelong learners who continue to challenge themselves to change the world.

My Project

As I have learned while teaching, standing in one spot to teach isn't ideal for our students. Students sitting in the back are usually forgotten if they don't volunteer. Being able to move around the classroom and support students while sharing lesson is one of the best ways to help students be engaged in learning. One way that will help me do this is to have a wireless display and a wireless keyboard.

Going wireless in my classroom will best allow me to support ALL my students actively during any lesson.

I will be able to roam around the classroom and give the added support for those students who may need a little more practice to understand the lesson. This also allows me to make sure students are on learning by giving on the spot feedback without any disruptions in the lesson. I will be able to project what is on tablet right to the screen wherever I am in the classroom. With this, time will be spent efficiently in the classroom during the lesson.

The keyboard will teach students to work together through STEAM related project and motivate them to want to do projects. The keyboard will give flexibility in sharing ideas and students simultaneously work on projects together. Going wireless will also allow students to freely move around the room with no limitations of the cable and have a more flexible working space.
