My Students

Everyone loves a sense of accomplishment. To give a student a feeling of pride for attaining a goal can truly make a difference in their lives. Help to awaken the self-esteem of our youth and ignite a passion for learning.

At Northeast Middle, we have RAM PRIDE!

And in my history class, we look to the past to understand who we are. We study both U.S. and world history, attempting to interpret the past through student-led research. Students discover history through a variety of rigorous activities and self paced online lessons. Northeast Guilford Middle is a Title 1 school, that mainly serves minority students. We have a wide range of learners, from the exceptional children to the academically gifted. Our school was built in the 1960's and has a long tradition of hard work and community.

My Project

This cutter system will be used to create a variety of specialized badges that will be awarded to students as they complete a variety of tasks. I envision badges for good citizenship, completion of coursework, good attendance, participation in sports and clubs, and any other positive behaviors or accomplishments that arise. With this equipment I will be able to cut out beautiful, creative, and professional sticker badge to award to my students as they accomplish their goals. I can quickly and efficiently create these badges and give them out to the students.

Our students love to be acknowledged.

And through their gaming culture, they are accustomed to receiving badges or trophies when accomplishing task. This will pair beautifully with my class design, as I put much of my work and activities online. Many students are naturally competitive, so when one sees another earning these badges, they will want to follow. They enjoy feeling a sense of accomplishment, and it is a great way to boost self esteem.
