Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are First Grade students who are curious about the world and community around them. They are growing their reading skills and are excited about using their reading skills to learn about the world they live in. They are also eager to incorporate their learning into their developing writing skills.

My students will begin the year learning in their homes with distance learning which will last until local health conditions deem it safe.

My students will have tablets, WiFi and approximately one textbook provided by the district. Our district is facing a massive budget shortfall and I, like most teachers, are being forced to pay out of pocket to ensure adequate and equitable learning supplies for all students.

My Project

My students continue to learn virtually at home. I am seeking help in purchasing a variety of digital tools known as "BOOM cards" to be able to assign asynchronously to students on Seesaw, our learning platform. These tools will allow me to be able to differentiate learning by targeting individual students' skills needs in both Reading Language Arts and Math. Once the students complete the assigned cards, I will be given instant feedback as to their progress which will help me to be able to further differentiate their learning progress.
