This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend an elementary school in Kensington. These children live in a rough, crime-ridden neighborhood. One hundred percent of the students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch every day. Despite all of this, they come to school every day still eager to learn. Many of our parents struggle to purchase the school supplies their children need for school. I wish to make the stressful supply-buying time for families easier by having supplies in my classroom for students to be able to use daily.

My Project

The Daily Math Fluency Kit provides strategies for centers that will help my students become more successful in math. It will give them various strategies to solve different math problems.

My students love centers, and this kit will give them another resource to be successful and love math even more!

Students will be able to explore math in different ways with this kit. This kit includes Math Talks for students to be able to discuss and communicate their math skills and abilities with other students and their teachers. Their success is of utmost importance.

This kit will give them additional and different resources to show their mastery and success .
