My Students
Three amazingly talented artists: Kevin Henkes, Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh! These artists took risks and persevered even when they met obstacles. My greatest wish is for my students to have the confidence to take risks and think outside the box!
My first grade students work so hard on the core curriculum that art is sometimes left behind.
I want them to learn the story behind these three artists and then find their inner artist! Through this literature, I hope that they can appreciate their own artwork and the work of their classmates.
My Project
These incredible books will help us do an "Author and Illustrator Study" on Kevin Henkes and "Artist Study" on Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh. Not only will we read and learn about these artists, but we will find our inner artists by creating masterpieces through a variety of different media.
