My students need basic art supplies including paint, construction paper, crayons, and glitter to open their imagination to create beautiful works of art.
Have you ever felt like you wanted to create a beautiful piece of art but did not have the materials to do so? My students love to experiment with various kinds of materials, but we never seem to have enough of the materials needed to complete their masterpieces.
My students are eager to use various art materials so they can make beautiful art projects.
My students come from a low-income community which can affect my ability to ask for more than the basic school supplies. Sometimes it is hard for them to share things about their families or their interests, but when they make a picture with paint or a sculpture using various materials they open up about their families and interests. Sometimes when they create a piece of art they love to tell you a story that might go along with it.
My Project
I am asking for basic art supplies such as paint, construction paper, drawing paper, crayons, wiggly eyes, glitter, and frames because my students love to work in the art center to create beautiful pictures and sculptures. They love to paint and draw pictures that go with each one of our units of study. We create self-portraits, paint seasonal pictures and create objects that go with the letters of the alphabet. These are just a few art projects that will be done in my classroom with the students.
These art supplies will enable my students to express themselves through beautiful art and sculpture projects they can make.
By doing art in the classroom it will bridge the gap between school and home in a positive way. The students will be proud to bring home their art projects and share how they created it and why.
