This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a first year teacher beginning to build my classroom library. Books are an investment in a child's life. These books will make a difference in my students' learning because they will see their interests and themselves represented in the books they will read.
My goal is to have a class library filled with books that promote inclusivity, social-emotional learning, and community.
I will have these books available for my students to read on their own or together as a class for a read aloud. There will be discussions that will connect their background knowledge to new learning.
My students deserve to read relevant, fun books. They also deserve to have the option to read about topics that interest them, helping them become whatever they are going to be.
