My students need fluency games, cards, and reproducibles. They also need literature units, reward pencils and bookmarks, and a microphone for practicing fluency.

My Students
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
With the help of the fluency materials and literature units that I'm asking for it is my hope that my students live by that quote. The supplies will help them be more fluent readers!
I will have 9 students this coming year (2010-2011).
I teach in a small rural community in Nebraska. There are students with a wide range of reading skills coming up to third grade next year. They are energetic 8- and 9-year-olds, who I hope this coming year become so engaged in reading that it makes them lifelong readers.
My Project
These students will get the opportunity to learn to read fluently and effectively with help from donors. If you are able to read fluently it helps with the whole process of reading.
I have also chosen some great books to do literature units. I feel the two different types of books I chose will heighten their knowledge of different kinds of books, and not just be stuck on one type. My ultimate goal this year is to widen the variety of books my students read.
My hope is that my students learn to be lifelong readers, thanks to the donors and me, their teacher.
