Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my class are on a variety of reading levels. My goal is to help each individual child become a better reader and mathematician, and gain a love for learning. With the proper Common Core materials, the students and I will be able to reach our goals.

My class is comprised of twenty-two children.

Six students receive special education services. Four students are reading on or close to the correct grade level. My students come from high poverty and most do not have books and materials on their levels to practice reading at home.

My Project

These resources, including exemplar texts and comparing texts will allow students to have literature that is Common Core aligned and on their independent reading levels. During the literacy block and our reading intervention time, students will be able to read on their level and become better readers because they will comprehend the text. Students will use the math Common Core aligned activities to become more fluent with their math facts which will help them solve more involved equations and problems.

Donations to this project will improve my classroom and change the students lives because they will have the materials needed to become better readers and mathematicians.

My students will be able to take texts home and read on their level at all times so that they can reach their goals of being on grade level.
