My Students
My students and I are blessed to learn at a beautiful, rural school in South Carolina. While the outside may look like your typical elementary school, you will quickly feel the difference once you walk through our front entrance. We are on the positive energy bus. My students are learning that they can drive their own "bus" by creating a positive vision and "driving" with a purpose. They are learning to transform their negativity and "fuel their ride" and others with positive energy!
While many of my students have faced obstacles and challenges in and out of school, they are learning the power of positive energy!
We celebrate success as a classroom family and encourage each other to try our best every day. If you entered our classroom, you would hear us excited to learn by shouting, "Yes, Yes, Yes" and cheering our classmates on with our Energy Bus Cheer, "You're Awesome, You're the Best, You Rock!" We have worked hard to create a positive, supportive classroom family where all students are encouraged and supported to try something new. My students love to learn and share their learning with others. It is truly a great place to learn!
My Project
My kindergarten students learn so much through creating art projects. We create projects as we learn letters and sounds, to go with our writing, as we are learning about science and social studies concepts and even in math!
Kindergarten students need to continue to strengthen their fine motor skills and by creating projects throughout our day, it helps my students connect their learning to a concrete object.
For example, as we have been learning our letters, my students have created an art project for each letter. We turned the letter "Ii" into an insect and the letter "Pp" into a pilgrim. I wish I could attach a picture! This helps my students connect the letter with it's sound and have something to share with their parents at home. We also create many art projects to go with our writing. We have created turkeys as we have been writing silly stories and informational stories. In Science, we created leaves as we learned about the season Fall. There is so much that we can learn by creating too!
Our school year has just begun and we still have so much learning to do. I have just recently returned back to the classroom from a maternity leave and am working on restocking classroom basics such as tape, tissue paper and construction paper. By donating to this project, you will be supporting the sweetest kindergarten class in South Carolina.. You will be helping my students learn new concepts and have fun too!
