This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students in my class have extensive support needs who are medically fragile, which often includes students with active seizures, cerebral palsy, cardiac conditions, tracheostomy, and other conditions that limit students' ability to communicate. When students start in my class at three years old, they often come into our class without access to communication. Working with the speech and language team, we find the students' best access method to communication. Unfortunately, the school district will not pay for an Apple TV box, but this tool will allow me to model communication using devices throughout the day, to support students in improving their abilities to express their wants and needs.
