Creating Inviting and Intriguing STEM Stations

Help me give my students furniture play set, rug and pillows to create an inviting reading nook, as well as tables and storage items to add STEM stations for our 2nd graders.

My Project

All students have the energy and excitement to be creative and lose themselves in learning new things. Through STEM, students are able to design, create and construct individually or with a team. We are wanting to develop an additional space for STEM to thrive in 2nd grade. The tables that we are requesting will house our OSMOs, iPads and robotics so that they are always set up and ready to go for any student at anytime. No time will be wasted getting materials out or packing up.

Our 2nd grade teaching team is also excited to set up a calming reading/researching area in this STEM space.

The bookcase, pillows and couch will be used to establish an inviting, cozy environment, that we feel will entice students to sit and read, write or create in a peaceful space.

Our goal as teachers is to use this space as an extension of our regular classrooms. During our school day, students complete their daily work at various times. Now we have an area that can be utilized for regular lesson time or as an extension of a lesson for enrichment or review.
