My Students
My students are very sweet, loving, and capable kids. We love having fun in my classroom while exploring literature in a variety of ways. Despite challenges that some students may face, I want to keep things simple while providing my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
I want to create a classroom where my students are enjoying literature and writing in a variety of ways.
Seeing my students enjoy learning brings me such joy and pleasure. To be able to provide my students with additional tools to further their love for learning, reading, and writing would mean a great deal to me and I know them as well.
My Project
I teach in a highly respected Title I school in my district. Many students come from single-family homes with limited resources. I want my students who are struggling readers and even those that are not to get excited about reading!
I always tell students that books will take you places that a movie or TV can not.
Through the use of these iPads, my students will be able to access online reading materials and programs to help enhance their reading experience while at school. They will be able to use audiobooks that can help struggling readers increase word exposure, improve their vocabulary, build background knowledge, and increase their comprehension skills.
My students will also use these iPads to balance their struggles with strengths through reading programs that work on developing reading comprehension and writing skills, all skills necessary to be successful 21st Century learners.
I also enjoy providing my students with a variety of seating options. A classroom reading rug is great for whole group experiences, not to mention a comfy place to read and explore a good book independently. The plastic stacking stools are a fun and flexible seating option for students to use when working with their iPads or sitting in a small group.
