Creating Emotional Resiliency in the Classroom

Help me give my students tools to help them explore more about their emotions and learn healthy coping skills to manage day to day stressors.

My Students

I have an amazing, diverse and eager group of students who love learning and are passionate about being brave, attentive, responsible and kind people!

Our students face many challenges at home, my classroom is a safe space for them to learn and express who they are as students and individuals.

My Project

These books will become a weekly tool to help our classroom come together and explore the ways in which our feelings and stressors impact our day to day lives.

My hope is to open up conversation and provide a safe space for students to learn about emotions and healthy coping skills.

Exploring and learning about their emotions and the practice of using healthy coping skills will help them both at school and in their daily lives.

The items requested will also be added to a calm cart where students can safely request a break and use sensory items and books to regulate their emotions and utilize healthy coping skills before returning to their classwork. This project is especially important to me as this has been a particularly stressful year for students and their families.
