My Project
I teach a lot of students from a lot of different backgrounds. This project will allow them to express their love for their own culture or even one that simply interests them. Being able to draw an illustration will allow them to express their creativity and utilize professional quality materials at the same time.
My students will choose a culture to represent and create a drawing that displays various aspects of that culture.
The Prismacolor colored pencils will be used to create a project based on a culture that the students will select. The students will be creating an illustration using doodle art. This will require them to draw a plethora of things including a person, an animal, symbols, and other imagery that are representative of the culture they want to depict in the drawing.
The students will need to research the culture prior to starting the illustration. Using these colored pencil sets will give them a wide variety of colors from which to select. They will be able to use the portrait colored pencil sets to have better access to numerous skin tones. Most classroom colored pencil sets are highly limited on skin tones and students get frustrated when they only have two or three from which to choose.
My students and I are excited to begin the project and hope to have successful results.
