This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is located in Woodhaven, NY. Students come from many different cultures. As a teacher in a Title I schools, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite those challenges they come in excited and eager to learn and interact with their classmates.

I believe my students are special because at such a young age, three and four years old, they are all different and unique.

Although I have not met my new students, I am looking forward to meeting them in September.

My Project

Our Pre-K classroom is in need of a new rug for the meeting area. It will provide my students with a clean space that will allow them to enhance their social emotional development. It will also give them a place where they will learn new things. The rug is used throughout the day for many different activities. Students will be on the rug during morning and afternoon meeting, circle time, story time, mini-lessons, music and movement, theater activities as well as during centers. By donating to my project you will be allowing my students the opportunity to meet and use this area for the various purposes and it will help enhance their learning.
