Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Recently, we have been short-handed on some materials that are required to enhance my students learning on a daily basis. My classroom is always in need of basic materials because we use them on a daily basis.
My students are extremely hard working and driven to meet all of their goals and dreams in high school graphic arts.
The arts gives them access to college and career opportunities outside of traditional academics.
My Project
Currently, our high school of 400+ students has 5 outdated DSLR cameras for our Digital Photography and Graphic Design programs. These cameras are shared across classrooms.
By providing our students more DSLR cameras, we will offer them a more robust Photography program and expand upon our current Photography and Digital Arts curricula.
Additionally, more cameras will allow us to offer more extracurricular opportunities to our amazing students.
With additional cameras, we plan to offer photojournalism opportunities for students who participate in the yearbook, as well as photography students who wish to shoot after school.
