Creating Calm, Focused Learning Spaces on the Floor!

My Project

My students learn best when they feel calm, comfortable, and focused. In our special education resource room, we work hard to create an environment where every child—from kindergarten through fifth grade—feels supported and ready to learn. That’s why I’m asking for a Lakeshore Flex-Space Independent Floor Work Space Bundle.

This floor work bundle will allow students to sit, stretch out, or lie down in a comfortable, contained space while practicing reading, writing, or math skills.

For many of my students with sensory needs or attention challenges, traditional desks and chairs are not the ideal learning spot. Having access to individual floor spaces gives them the flexibility to work in the position that helps them focus best—without distractions.

These soft, structured floor mats and seat cushions will also support independent work, small group instruction, and brain breaks in a way that’s cozy and safe. Whether students are completing a phonics activity, solving math problems, or engaging in a calming moment between tasks, this flexible seating bundle will help them feel more grounded and engaged.
