Creating Calm and Building Community for Future Leaders

My Project

This fall, I’ll be starting my very first year as a 4th grade teacher in an Title I school, and I want to create a warm, inclusive space where every student feels safe, supported, and ready to learn. Many of my students will benefit from sensory tools—like fidgets, wobble seats, and noise-canceling headphones—to help them stay focused and regulate emotions throughout the day.

I’m also hoping to add a cozy classroom rug to serve as a welcoming spot for group learning, class meetings, and read-alouds.

Students will see themselves as mathematicians, readers, authors, and scientists this year. With your support, I can build a classroom that meets my students’ needs from day one and helps them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
