Creating Beats, Building Futures: A Music Tech Lab For Teens
Help me give my students keyboards, controllers, and microphones for a music technology lab to use their creativity to explore new ways to create music.
I love my students’ boundless creativity and their eagerness to explore new ways of making music. Many of them already write songs, beatbox, or dream of producing their own tracks—but they lack the tools to bring their ideas to life.
This music technology program will give students the skills to turn passion into craft.
MIDI controllers will make music theory hands-on. Microphones will help them record vocals with confidence. Launchpads and a DJ controller will unlock live performance skills. Every resource will empower them to create, collaborate, and see themselves as real musicians.
This program isn’t just about beats and melodies—it’s about giving students a voice. For some, music is an emotional outlet; for others, it’s a future career. With these tools, they’ll learn technical skills, problem-solving, and teamwork while expressing themselves in ways they never could before. Your support will help them discover not just the art of music production, but also the pride of seeing their work come to life. Together, we can build a program where every student feels heard, valued, and inspired to create.
Many of our students come from underserved communities where access to music technology is limited. By providing a hands-on music production lab, we can engage students in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) learning. We can also teach real-world skills in digital music production, sound engineering, and DJing and boost confidence and creativity through songwriting and beat-making. All this will prepare students for careers in music production, audio engineering, and entertainment.
This program won’t just teach music—it will inspire careers. Students will gain technical skills, teamwork experience, and confidence in their creative abilities. By supporting this project, you’re helping shape the next generation of producers, sound engineers, and performers.
