Creating and Collaborating in Student-Led Maker Space Activities

My students need origami paper and duct tape to create and collaborate during maker space activities!

My Students

Our school is filled with curious and diverse young learners who love to learn! As media coordinator, I have the privilege of teaching and building relationships with all 800 students at our school. My students come from various backgrounds with 100% being served free breakfast and 75% being served free or reduced lunch.

My students do not allow their challenges to deter them from exploring new ideas or learning new information.

Instead, their differences and diverse needs are embraced which has created an engaging, challenging, and welcoming learning environment within the media center.

My Project

Maker space activities require problem-solving, thinking out-of-the-box, creativity, and collaboration. Student-led maker space activities also allow students to experience and explore topics and activities that students are curious about and have interest in learning more about.

Many of my students enjoy creating products as part of their learning.

It is for this reason that I am requesting duct tape and origami paper for our student-led maker space. With these materials, my students will be able to create products and items that pique their interest while strengthening their critical thinking skills. These materials will truly bring endless learning opportunities for my students.
