Concerns about money, warm clothing, or their next meal: these are things children should never have to worry about, yet my inner-city students face these issues daily and still come to school excited to learn! Our school is a high-poverty, Title I school, with an Economic Need Index of 82.5%. I teach in a blended learning classroom, however all NY City Schools are closed and my students are learning from home until further notice.
Visual learning is imperative to the success of my second language learners!
More than half of my students are new to this country and are working hard to learn a second language. In my class, I create a caring environment, rich with opportunities for all students to be successful.
I am consistently amazed by their innovative ideas an their ability to defy language barriers. Given the right resources, there is no telling what my students can accomplish.
My Project
Young language learners require constant exposure to new vocabulary and visual resources to help them process new content and reinforce their learning.
I want to give each of my students a strong foundation to surpass all expectations!
Access to a color printer will help me to individualize their assignments, create eye-catching visuals, and develop supports they can use both in the classroom at home.
My students know I believe in them, they constantly prove their strength and perseverance. Please help me in my continued effort to provide them with an excellent learning experiences and valuable recourses to enhance their education!
