Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my 9th-grade English classroom, I want students to feel comfortable, engaged, and motivated to learn. Every day, I work to create a space where they can focus, participate, and express themselves in ways that make learning meaningful to them.

One of the biggest challenges my students face is staying focused, especially during independent work and interactive lessons.

That’s why I’m requesting Sony ZX Series Wired On-Ear Headphones so students can concentrate while working on platforms like Edpuzzle, Nearpod, and CommonLit without distractions. Whether they’re listening to an audiobook, completing an interactive lesson, or reviewing a teacher-recorded explanation, these headphones will help them stay on task and engaged.

In our classroom, I would also like to use an Amazon Echo Dot to play calming music throughout the day. The right background sounds can help students stay focused while reading, writing, or working on projects. It also serves as a quick and interactive way to access information, like defining new vocabulary words or setting timers for activities.

To keep our learning environment fun and welcoming, I’m also requesting meme sticker packs as rewards and incentives. Sometimes, a small, lighthearted reward can make a huge difference in student participation and motivation.

Finally, the Cricut accessories bundle will allow my students to get creative with their learning. We’ll use it for projects that reflect their identities and connections to literature—like personal storyboards inspired by The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. Having creative outlets in the classroom makes learning more personal and engaging for them.

These tools will help transform my classroom into a space where students can focus, participate, and express themselves in ways that make learning more enjoyable. Thank you for considering a donation to help make this possible!
