This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my classroom, I aim to create an environment where students feel safe, valued, and supported both emotionally and academically. Social-emotional learning (SEL) is an essential part of helping students build the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. It helps them manage emotions, set positive goals, show empathy, maintain healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions.
I am seeking support from DonorsChoose to provide my students with supplies that will promote SEL and create a welcoming classroom environment where each student feels like they belong.
The materials, such as the couches, posters, tables, I am requesting will help foster a sense of community and create opportunities for reflection, mindfulness, and open dialogue about emotions.
