Creating a Welcoming and Inviting Space for Reading and Writing

My Project

Moving from middle school to high school brings a variety of changes. I am looking to update my room and supplies to better fit older students.

I want to ensure that my new space is welcoming for my high school students and that they see our classroom as a space that they are comfortable in, which will foster a greater learning in all students.

All items requested in this project will be used to create that inviting atmosphere. The rug, cushions and other seating options will allow students to sit in places besides their desk. These items will allow students to choose the spot where they learn best during work time, allowing them to work around the room. The lights and other decor items will allow for an inviting, calm environment. The caddies and other storage materials will help give my students a consistent place for their supplies. The book display stands will allow me to showcase a rotation of high interest books for my students to read.

I know all of my students are special in their own way, and I am confident that these requested materials will allow each and every student to succeed in my classroom.
