My students need new lab manuals to keep track of all the hands-on learning activities we do each year, and we need a sturdy binding machine will help us put them together.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Martin's classroom raised $183

My Students
Throughout the school year, I strive to make my classroom a place with a strong sense of community and engagement. My students go very far to build each other up, academically and socially. They love working in groups, sharing resources and finding new ways to explore the world around them. Since I teach science, this is exactly the kind of energy they need in order to thrive!
Students in my classroom love to learn science by DOING science.
They're inquisitive, hardworking, well-rounded kids, who will go far with the right tools. Many students walk into my class with the misunderstanding that science is just a collection of facts in a textbook. Throughout the year, we work to change that idea by doing hands-on experiments, building models and exploring natural phenomena. By the time they leave at the end of the year, their knowledge and love of inquiry has gone through the roof!
My Project
A good lab notebook is a scientist's best friend. It's the place where they jot down ideas, write down and plan out procedures, collect and analyze data, and draw conclusions about their research. Right now, all of the lab papers that students accumulate throughout the year end up falling through the cracks...jammed in lockers...left at home...or crumpled up at the bottom of their book bag. This becomes a big barrier when it comes time to review all of the progress we have made over the year.
With one binding machine, we can help eliminate this problem.
If this project is funded, we can use our new Fellowes Binding Machine to create bound personal copies of lab activities and store them in the classroom. Students would be able to maintain better organization and keep a record of their progress throughout the year. With the right binding, students can even store these lab books for future reference long after the school year is over.
