Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds, many are English language learners. They are as varied in their socioeconomic backgrounds as they are in their cultural and ethnic identities, making for a rich opportunity to learn from one another.

I am teaching in a Project-Based Learning school.

I teach at least six PBL science/social studies units during the school year. Parents volunteer in the classroom or online and are invited to attend our final presentation.

My students research and work in groups to answer the essential question in each unit.

My Project

The colorful carpet squares will be used under the student wobble stools to protect our new flooring. They will also be a comfortable seat outside during snack and independent reading. My students enjoy having the choice to work inside on a wobble stool or outside with a carpet square.

The Kinetic Sand and Sensory Dough will be packaged in individual ziploc bags and given to each student in distant learning and in-person for mindfulness and relaxation.

I look forward to purchasing many fun, interactive and standards based lessons with the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards.
