This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Incorporating a diffuser and essential oils, pillows, soft chairs, lamps, headphones, stickers, a vacuum to promote cleanliness, and doorbell chime into my 5th grade classroom will create a more soothing and productive environment for students who were impacted by covid.

A diffuser with calming essential oils will help reduce classroom stress and create a tranquil environment, promoting better focus and sense of well being.

Soft pillows and chairs enhance comfort, encouraging students to stay engaged and focused during lessons. A gentle lamp provides softer, more pleasant lighting than harsh overhead lights, reducing eye strain and creating a cozy learning space.

Headphones are crucial for minimizing distractions during independent work, allowing students to concentrate on tasks without being disturbed by classroom noise. Stickers can be used as positive reinforcement, motivating students and celebrating their achievements, which boosts their confidence and enthusiasm for learning.

A vacuum ensures a clean and hygienic classroom environment, which contributes to overall health and reduces allergens, creating a more comfortable space. Finally, a chime can serve as a gentle auditory cue to signal transitions between activities or to regain students' attention, reducing stress and promoting smoother classroom management.

Together, these items contribute to a calming, organized, and supportive classroom atmosphere. By addressing physical comfort and sensory needs, my students will be able to focus on their studies, participate actively, and thrive in a positive and nurturing environment.
