This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our middle school track team consists of eager 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls and boys learning how to train and compete competitively for perhaps the first time. Our athletes come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds and running experiences. For many, this is their first competitive experience.

Middle School track provides athletes with skills and a positive experience that can lead to life time fitness.

Being able to provide a positive, engaging, and healthy training program will teach life long health, fitness, and running skills.

I want to provide a positive training and competition experience for our runners in order to promote a love of running, competition, and life long health and fitness.

My Project

As coach of a middle school track team, we have many first time runners who are just learning about the excitement of competitive running. Middle school is a time when students are just figuring out what they might like to do for lifetime fitness. I want to provide training activities that promote fitness, engage the students in training activities, and instill training and fitness habits.

These training and agility tools will provide an engaging, high energy workout for our middle school athletes.

Middle school runners will stay motivated to run and work out with fun and engaging activities. These simple tools will accomplish this goal and teach important fitness strategies runners can use throughout their lifetimes.
