Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This is the third year our school has had art. We are a growing program. In fact we have expanded to two classes!
We have an enthusiastic bunch of middle school kids who can't sign up fast enough for our growing art program.
We are finding ourselves with more kids and less supplies. Since this is our third year we now have advanced classes and I would like to bring advanced materials into the curriculum.
My Project
With these acrylics, brushes, and canvases, students will learn about painting. They will learn to mix colors, apply an under painting, how to choose the correct brush for the right job. They will use the elements of art and principles of design to express themselves through painting!
Theses materials will give our student's access to materials and concepts they have not had before.
Most of my students have not seen or heard of acrylic paints. If we want to give them a true art education they need true supplies.
